GCE Elevator repaired

We made the corrections and got the GCE working safely. We found another safety left disconnected. Both Car gate safeties were not operational. We corrected the slack rope safety and connected the gate safeties, made rope adjustments, installed the missing slack rope switch and wired it in as designed.

After many adjustments to get a good ride and consistant ride, we turned over a working elevator. We will be doing follow up visits to assure the unit is in good working order.

No matter how much your company name and website say that you are residential elevator experts, you are still Amatures if your units are not safe!

Buyers Be Aware! Not everyone who claims to know elevators really does!

I have a LEV that was installed in 2004. I had one problem with it and fortunately was able to fix it myself.

I now hear a continuous beep coming from the controller. The only way to stop the beep is cut the electricity to it. We hardly use it anyway so the workaround is getting me by.

Does anyone know what this might be? My hunch is the UPS needs to be replaced. Any thoughts?

Bob,

You are correct the UPS power supply will work 10-15 times then may need to be replaced.

It will also happen if you have an extended power outage. The battery and Ups are not designed to recharge the battery after the battery has been drained.

You will also see a need to replace the Ups after 3-5 years.

The ups can easily be unplugged and replaced with a like model from Walmart or a computer store.

You can remove the ups altogether, but you lose the battery lowering feature.

Your best solution is to call your installer and have them switch the ups out and do a preventative maintenance on the unit.
